The short version

  • Five companies help us run scrimpl: Anthropic (Claude), Vercel (our API and this website), Supabase (accounts and credits), Paddle (payments) and Resend (email).
  • Only Anthropic and our API on Vercel ever see a screenshot, for the one request you made. Neither stores it for us.
  • Your library stays on your Mac, so no hosting or database company holds it.

In use

scrimpl is run by Milos Zdrale, Sime Milutinovića Sarajlije 1, 71123 Istočno Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. These companies process personal data for us:

CompanyWhat forDataWhere

Supabase Pte. Ltd.DPA · Privacy Accounts and sign-in, plans, credits and request records Email address, sign-in codes and sessions, accepted Terms version, plan, credit balance and history, request records (no content), Paddle's payment and subscription notices, service logs Singapore and the United States (company); the database runs in the region we chose for it

Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.)DPA · Privacy Sending account email: sign-in codes, notices about your plan or credits, important changes Email address, the email's content, delivery status United States

Paddle sells our plans as the merchant of record, so for payments it is also a controller in its own right, under its own privacy policy. Each provider's data processing agreement includes the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum for transfers out of the EU, the EEA and the UK. As stated in Anthropic's commercial terms, Anthropic may not train models on data sent through its API.

Where screenshots go

A screenshot leaves your Mac only when you ask for AI work. It travels over HTTPS to the scrimpl API on Vercel, which checks your credits and passes it to Anthropic's Claude API, and the result comes back the same way. The API keeps it in memory only while the request runs; it is not written to our database, our logs or any storage. Supabase, Paddle and Resend never receive screenshots or the text on them.

Services you choose yourself

These are not our subprocessors: you use them under your own agreement with them, and scrimpl does not control what they do with data.

  • AI agents you connect to scrimpl's connector, such as Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Codex or Cursor: they receive what they ask scrimpl for, under your agreement with their provider.
  • Your browser's speech recognition for voice input: Google in Chrome, Apple in Safari.
  • Websites that scrimpl opens from your Mac, like a visitor, to read a brand or a logo.

Apple's text recognition, which scrimpl uses to read the words in a screenshot, runs on your Mac; nothing is sent to Apple for it.

Changes and notifications

We update this page, and its date, before a new subprocessor starts processing personal data. Business customers can ask to be told at least 30 days in advance by writing to hello@scrimpl.com with the subject "Subprocessor updates"; the DPA explains how to object.

Screenshots that say one thing.
